How does the Home Joule work? ConsumerPowerline analyzes energy price and usage data to create signals that are meaningful to consumers, and then sends those signals to Ambient Devices. Ambient uses its patented technology to match up those signals with particular Home Joule devices and broadcasts the signals on a pager network. Just as messages to specific pagers go only to those users, so do the energy signals find their way to the right Joules.

Founded in 2000, ConsumerPowerline (CPLN) is a full service strategic energy asset management firm with a proven track record of generating electricity savings and energy market revenues for our clients. CPLN’s basic offering is demand response (DR) management. We help insure reliable supplies of power from the grid to consumers by notifying our clients of ways they can reduce kW usage at particularly critical times—when demand is unusually high and supply dangerously short.
